A new investment product from Schwab, combining Robo-Investing with online Advisor access all designed responsively.
Working closely with Schwab’s product and design team we designed a responsive financial product that built upon existing Schwab's robo-investing technology, as well as integrating 3rd party solutions that got to market on-time and within scope.

Timeline: 20 weeks
Team: 2 UX Designers and 1 Design Director
Phases UX: Scoping to Visual Design

Onsite Collaboration
We hosted the Product and Design team at our studio for a collaboration session. Our goal was to highlight major areas of opportunity that we could open up for creative input from the broader team. These images are a few of the outcomes of this onsite.

Early Models
In the beginning of the project we needed to understand how all the disparate roles and solutions would all work together. By creating these simple models we could use them to help explain our understating with the Schwab team and to confirm that our thinking was correct.
User Flow
This flow was hugely important in the beginning of the project as it showed the different roles we are designing for, as well as showing all of the 3rd party integrations in one holistic view.
Conveying Progress
This prototype scenario was immensely helpful for both our team and the Schwab product team. We used it to show progress on the different sections of the product. The product team was able to review this with different stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Iterations of the Overview Page
Its hard to show the scope of the work done for this project but this is just an exmaple of the multiple iterations of one page that we did throughout the course of the project.

Responsive Grid and Screens
We built upon the existing Schwab Style Guide to include Mobile / Tablet sizes and adding new patterns specific to those platforms.
Screens prepped in Zeplin for hand off to development.
Preparing for Development
Working with the Schwab Development team we prepared our designs using Zeplin.

Style Guide
As we built out the new mobile patterns for Schwab we had to document these new styles so they could be used in the future by the Schwab Design team.
Result
After wrapping up our work, Schwab successfully launched Intelligent Advisory in January 2017. We had two subsequent engagements with Schwab around this product. For the last project, we helped develop concepts to streamline the goal setting experience for investors. This allowed Schwab to be less the reliant on a 3rd party front end solution.
