Timeline: 30 weeks (ongoing)
Team: 2 UX Designers, 1 Director, 1 Producer
UXPhases:  Scoping to Visual Design

Touchscreen Experience

This was the first part of the project and probably the most challenging. In order to get to market quickly, Electrify America needed to work with 4 different manufacturers with varying technologies and different aspect ratios for their touchscreens.

Touchscreen Flows

One of the challenges of this project was working with through our client with the manufacturers of the charger units. We (unfortunately) didn't have direct access to them and instead had to rely on our client to stand in as a proxy. Working closely with our client, we built this flows to ensure all of the screens and logic were correct before delivering to the manufacturers.

Mobile App

The mobile app was designed to be consistent with the touch screen, not just on a visual level but also display the same charging information for your car that you would see at the charger.

Flow for Signing Up on Mobile

Portal Experience

Similar to the Mobile app the Portal experince needed to be fully functional. Including searching and locating a charger site, checking the status of indivisual chargers, getting direction and managing your account.

Style Guide

The branding work from Electrify America was done by another agency, but we extended the style guide to include the branding guidelines as well as add mobile and desktop specific UI elements.

Result

This project is still on-going, with a few charging sites that have come online in the last month. The development for the App and Portal are in the final stages and once they past UAT, they should launch in a month or two.
